Ann Hetzel Gunkel, Ph.D. is Professor of Humanities and Cultural Studies at Columbia College Chicago. She serves on the Board of the Polish American Historical Association (PAHA) and is a member of the Polish Institute of Arts & Sciences of America. A native of Chicago's Polonia, Dr. Gunkel is a multimedia author who researches Polish American material culture.
